As part of its mission to protect children through environmental education, the AEEFG (Association for Environmental Education for Future Generations) has closely examined the toxicity of toys sold in Tunisia.
To this end, AEEFG launched a project to investigate persistent organic pollutants (POPs), such as brominated flame retardants, phthalates, PFAS, and heavy metals like lead and bromine. These chemical substances can significantly impact children’s health.
A substantial number of samples were collected from various sales points, both formal (stores, supermarkets, pharmacies) and informal (second-hand shops, markets, street stalls).
To carry out the analysis of the collected toys and achieve the objectives set by their project, AEEFG selected TTS, given its proven expertise in analytical chemistry and its long experience in toy testing, including technical control at import for the Ministry of Commerce.
The results of the analyses and inspections performed on the collected toys will be officially announced at the end of November by the Association for Environmental Education for Future Generations.
